PUENTE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCES
MAY 2008

The Puente second annual 9th Grade Student Leadership Conferences will be held in May 2008. These two conferences are held in both Northern and Southern California and bring together Puente students from 33 high schools across the state. Through keynote addresses, workshops, panels, and other activities, students explore the concepts of student leadership, mentoring and community. Puente students learn how to become resourceful in academic and career settings, explore a variety of career options, develop their leadership skills and learn the value and benefits of contributing to their region and neighborhoods through community/volunteer work.

Students will:

  • meet author Gary Soto
  • meet community and student leaders
  • experience exciting workshops and career panels
  • meet other 9th grade Puente students
  • enjoy a light breakfast and lunch

Puente students can register for this conference online by following the link EITHER to the Northern California conference OR to the Southern California conference. Additional informational flyers are provided here for the NC conference and the SC conference. Please call Miesha Clipper at (510) 987-9053 with any questions.
