Program Implementation Resources

The resources provided here are to assist Puente teams in ensuring that the program is implemented effectively at their site. In this section you will find more information about team members' roles and responsibilities, student recruitment and orientation, English and Personal Development (PD) classes' program description. Also, teams will find links for student centered activities, such as Puente club purpose and guidelines, program outline for Family Night (also known as Noche de Familia).

Community College Guidelines for Teams and Administrators

This document contains all the essential information about implementing the Puente Progam at a CC site. (Coming soon.) It is a great resourse to use in conversation with site adminstrators to clarify details and expectations. It contains important infromation about program implemention, how to access site funds, and what is included in the agreement with the district, including release time for training and Puente events.

Team Member Roles and Responsibilities

The following documents outline some of the aspects of your role as a Puente team member and are also included in the agreement that your campus has made with the Puente Project.

Site Team Bottomline: An outline that helps guide the instructor and counselor as a team, and helps them meet the program requirements.

Student Recruitment and Guidelines - Building a Puente Class

Adherence to Settlement Guidelines and Puente guidelines: A resource that will help team's understand the history and importance of adhering to the Settlement Guidelines provided by the California Community College Chancellor's Office; the teams will also understand the importance of following the Puente suggested guidelines for student recruitment and orientation.

Student Recruitment Process: These documents will provide teams with a step by step process for Publicity, recruitment (sample letter for HS students), and enrollment.

Student Orientation: These documents will provide you with an outline of important items to discuss during the student orientation; included is a sample agenda.

One-to-one Informational meeting: Download sample questions to be used by instructor and counselor for one-on-one meeting with potential Puente student.

Student Forms (Coming soon.): Teams should download Student Program Registration Form (intent to be in the program); and Puente Project Student Information and Contract Form (once student is in the program) to register and enroll students.
