Puente Family & Community

In addition to financial support provided by the University of California and the California Community Colleges, the Puente Project depends on the support and assistance of many others, including individuals, corporate and foundation donors, community-based organizations, and partners in the educational, business and philanthropic communities. Private funding has made possible the development of enhanced student leadership opportunities for both high school and community college students, including the annual Ninth Grade Student Leadership Conferences and Community College Transfer Motivational Conferences.

Puente welcomes the involvement of parents, families, alumni, mentors and others interested in helping Puente accomplish its mission. Please visit the categories listed to the left to learn more.

"The most gratifying aspect of working for Puente is, to me, the impact that the program has not only on students but on their parents. It changes parents' concept of what their son or daughter could be."
— C.R., Counselor, Southwestern College

"Puente has helped my child prepare for college by keeping her on a schedule with the goal of going to college. . . .She is always encouraged to take more difficult classes and challenge herself."
— Parents of Puente high school student
